Mining Landscapes
Between 1984 and 1985 I was photographing in the middle of the turbulent miners strike, communities were fighting to hold on to their tough but vibrant ways of life.
I returned in 2003 to meet many of the same people and talk about how their lives had changed. They showed me where the mines had once stood, I discovered MacDonald's', a football stadium and a prison.
The landscapes are a testament to our changing times
