South Downs Way
This was a commission for a hospital and I was interested in bringing in windows to the outside world into this enviroment. Sussex with its ancient pathway and plentiful landscape evoked a timelessness quality for me. Over a period of a year, waiting for the light, I went walking, looking for photographs that you could stop and rest in, be in for a while. Reminders of our place and connections with the land. |

Mining Landscapes
Between 1984 and 1985 I was photographing in the middle of the turbulent miners strike, communities were fighting to hold on to their tough but vibrant ways of life. I returned in 2003 to meet many of the same people and talk about how their lives had changed. They showed me where the mines had once stood, I discovered MacDonald's', a football stadium and a prison. The landscapes are a testament to our changing times |

Landscapes
The face of the land has been an absorbing interest of mine, and it is a genre to which I continue to return. |
